Outlandish X Pingora Hudson Valley Pack
Outlandish X Pingora Hudson Valley Pack
The Lenape were the first inhabitants and caretakers of Lenapehoking, including the land where Outlandish is based, long before New York City existed, during a time when oak and elm were the only skyscrapers.
Although the Dutch forcibly removed them from the land, the Lenape still exist today, in New York and beyond.
In collaboration with Utah-based Pingora, we’re excited to launch the Hudson Valley Pack, in celebration of Lenape’s legacy and ongoing impact throughout Lenapehoking and beyond.
The pack includes petroglyph etched by the Lenape into a ridge along the Delaware River 3,000 – 5,000 years ago. It’s the largest Lenape petroglyph that has been discovered and includes thirty markings, some of which are possibly lizards, dragonfly, deer, bear, a man with a bow, the Orion constellation, the crescent moon, and a shaman.
We hope this 13 liter pack plays a small role in carrying the art, story telling, and heritage of the Lenape with us as we explore landscapes they originally cared for.
